FDA Approved – Doesn’t Always Mean Its Safe!!

When your doctor writes a prescription, you trust that it will help you recover from an illness, fight disease, or treat a medical condition. Unfortunately, many prescription and over-the-counter drugs have dangerous side effects, some of which are concealed by the pharmaceutical companies, making consumers and the prescribing Doctors unaware of the dangers of the medicines that these drugs can cause to you. FDA approved drugs and implantable medical devices often have not been rigorously tested, leading to new injuries for consumers such as: cancer, birth defects, organ failure, heart / cardiovascular injuries, birth defects, loss of vision, need for corrective surgeries, and even premature death. Any drug, implant, or device that injures the consumer due to side effects that were known to the manufacturer, should be recalled by the FDA and retested until it can be made safe to the consumer. When such injuries occur, the victim can file a side effect lawsuit against the wrongful and other negligent parties for monetary damages for their past and future pain and suffering, medical expenses, disfigurement, lost wages and mental anguish. If the defendant intentionally covered up bad results and reported inaccurate or false results of serious side effects to the FDA, then that defendant may also be accessed punitive damages for their gross negligent and reckless conduct.
