Gadolinium – Can Cause Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis

Gadolinium based contrast agents have been linked to Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) and Nephrogenic Fibrosing Dermopathy (NFD). Symptoms include skin rashes, joint pain, stiffness, kidney failure, and renal failure after exposure to MRI or MRA contrast dyes. Gadolinium contrast agents are marketed as Magnevist (gadopentetate dimeglumine), Ominiscan (gadodiamide), OptiMARK (gadoversetamide), MultiHance (gadobenate dimeglumine) and Prohance (gadoteridol).

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) – Diet Drugs

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) are rare pulmonary diseases that narrow the lung's blood vessels causing high blood pressure and eventually leading to heart failure. PPH, PAH, and PH have been linked to the use of diet drugs including: Fen-Phen, Redux, Pondimin, may also be caused by consumption of ephedra, ma huang or nutritional supplements such as Metabolife, Herbalife, Dexatrim and herbal products like St John's Wort extract.

Trasylol – Causes Heart Attacks, Strokes & Kidney Failure

Trasylol (aprotinin), Bayer's injectable drug used to prevent excessive blood loss during heart surgery, has produced distrubing results in a recent New England Journal of Medicine study. The New England Journal of Medicine, January 25, 2006, states that patients who were given Trasylol, compared with controls, had nearly double the risk of death, renal failure, or stroke and a more than 50% increased risk of heart attack. Trasylol also increases the risk of kidney damage and kidney failure. Heparin Syringes – May Cause Severe Infection

Heparin Lock Flush Solution syringes by Sierra may contain Serratia Marcescens bacteria. Experts are warning anyone that has used Lot #070926H pre-filled Heparin Lock Flush Solution syringes to seek immediate medical attention if they develop a fever or other signs of infection.
