An investaigation has linked the solution to a rare eye infection called Acanthamoeba keratitis, or AK for short, that can lead to partial vision loss or blindness.
The CDC and the FDA are investigating 138 confirmed cases of Acanthamoeba keratitis, a rare, painful eye infection that can lead to permanent vision loss or blindness.
"The CDC estimates a risk of at least seven times greater for those who used Complete MoisturePlus solution versus those who did not ... Researchers have found the solution was used by almost 60% of people suffering from a rare outbreak of infections by a microbe known as Acanthamoeba."
