Granuflo Cardiac Arrest Cover Up
In the fall of 2011, a company memo of Fresenius Medical Care made it clear that they were aware of the increased risk of heart attacks and death when GranuFlo was not administered in the proper doses. This memo suggested that the risk of cardiac arrest was increased as much as six times in these circumstances. It is also alleged that 941 patients treated with these dialysis products experienced cardiac arrest/heart attack between January and December of 2010. This information was only sent to doctors employed by Fresenius‘s own dialysis treatment centers. However, the company also sells its products for use in other treatment locations¸ which did not receive any such warning.
